Step 1: Preparing for Microsoft 365 Copilot - Unlocking Enterprise Content

The Microsoft 365 Copilot algorithm can only process content already managed by Microsoft. That rules out any enterprise content locked in a legacy system or hosted in an external cloud environment. In other words: If you want to capitalize on the added value Microsoft 365 Copilot has to offer your organization, migrating your enterprise content to the Microsoft 365 environment in its entirety is the smarter move.

Proper preparation is key, though – the first step is creating an overview of what you're working with. That means asking a lot of questions:

• What does your current enterprise content management look like? 
• Are your business processes already hosted in the cloud, or are you using a range of legacy tools and software? (Perhaps it's a combination of both?)
• How would working with Microsoft 365 improve your current content process, and what are the gaps? 

Once you have a clear sense of the playing field and the different factors at play, it's time to plan a future-proof course of action.
